According to The New England Hockey Journal, sources have told the outlet that an outdoor game between Boston College and Boston University – a rumor that has been going around for a couple of months – will take place on January 8, exactly one week after the NHL Winter Classic between the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers.
After talking to the hockey contact at BU, he could not confirm nor deny the report.
A doubleheader has also been talked about with a women’s game being a prelude to BC-BU. More on this later.
Update BC and BU has been confirmed as the second game of the Doubleheader with Northeastern and New Hampshire taking part in the first game. An announcement for Fenway Park is scheduled for August 20, a week from Thursday.
